Can I edit text in a scanned PDF?

Not directly. Scanned PDFs are images — there's no text to click on. Run OCR first to add a text layer, then the edit tool can work with the recognized text. Note that OCR text may have recognition errors that compound editing issues.

Will the edited text look like the original?

The tool matches font, size, and color as closely as possible. For standard fonts and common sizes, the match is very good. For unusual or embedded fonts, the replacement text may look slightly different. Keep edits small for the best visual result.

Can I add new text to a PDF, not just edit existing text?

The tool is designed for editing existing text elements. To add entirely new text, use the Add Page Numbers tool (for page-level additions) or the Sign PDF tool (for signatures and dates). For free-form text placement, you may need a full PDF editor.

Does editing text remove form fields or signatures?

No. Form fields, signatures, annotations, and other interactive elements are preserved. Only the visible text objects you click on are affected. The underlying PDF structure stays intact.

What if the font used in the PDF isn't available on my system?
